These seminars are designed to brief senior HR professionals on the new Mantra for 2011; Human Capital measurement, implementation and reporting. HPA will reveal emerging diagnostic tools that map employee value and risk within the business. Such assessments, developed by our team of specialist researchers, can take you one step further than metrics and link HR and business results to your employees' behaviours.
Within the session you will have the chance to explore how human capital analytics can pinpoint areas for investment and allow for cost savings from the top down. Through case study examples, we'll be giving a first look at these clear, practical tools that represent a break away from the usual HR planning cycle and provide actionable business intelligence for quick and long term wins.

HPA has changed. Those eagle-eyed of you out there will have spotted it already of course. We hope you approve. Why change? Not just to start the New Year with a fresh look. We liked the ‘old’ site - we just had so much more we wanted it to do and say, so we took the call to not just redesign it, but to go for a completely different look and feel.
So what's changed?
We have streamlined our core services into Diagnostics; Business Intelligence and Consulting. Added a great deal more information – with some neat visuals – making them easier to understand. Allied to this, the new HPA site focuses on providing greater information in our key areas of expertise: Optimising human capital; behavioural risk management; organisational culture and financial reporting. We’ve also added some depth – and colour – to where we’re coming from – and where we’re headed. For those looking for our blog, we brought along a load of posts as well as added a few new ones to get the relaunch off with a bang. We’ve also added a few new colleagues – more about them in the next post.
Enjoy!

(To the HubCap Digital website)

Since coming together in July 2009, the consolidation of People Resolutions and HPA continues with HubCap Digital, originally conceived as HPA’s 2.0 digital library and research community, being expanded to incorporate People Resolutions’ customers and consultant network.
Currently in Alpha, HubCap was always set to expand beyond providing the Web’s most advanced aggregation of human capital ideas and research. Forums are already in test phase for release Jan 2010, but the digital library is also broadening to encompass People Resolutions' HR-related subjects. Of course, HubCap is working on a long-term dual approach, providing basic formal taxonomy whilst anticipating a community folksonomy to afford maximum collaboration between users. But a second track is being added to ensure that both sides – HPA bringing in psychology, finance and law, People Resolutions taking care of HR – can connect around their own respective materials whilst at the same time being able to switch tracks to get a fuller picture.
On another front, HubCap’s digital viewer will be fully operational in 2010. Created for Shenley Holdings, the umbrella company behind HPA, People Resolutions and HubCap, but getting its first ‘airing’ on HubCap, the document viewer is a powerful way of focusing attention in and around works, with users able not only to use the viewer to showcase their own material but also to join conversations around other people’s, leading to new ideas and contacts. The viewer – in the form of embedded code much like a YouTube video – will enable People Resolutions to promote interactive information, factsheets and brochures to its customers directly on its own website. It is also in the planning for HubCap’s document viewer to be embeddable for anyone whose materials are uploaded and shared on the joint network later in 2010.
HPA is delighted to be working with Rob Briner from the University of Birkbeck on a new and exciting piece of research investigating the costs of employee risks. This piece of research will look to understand how organisations currently account for people risks and the way in which this data is used to inform organisational as well as HR strategy.
Research results will be available in the near future. Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more details.
More about Rob Briner:
Rob Briner is Professor of Organizational Psychology and Head of the Department of Organizational Psychology at the University of Birkbeck. His research focuses on the reciprocal links between work and various aspects of well-being such as moods and emotions. His other interests include the psychological contract at work, absence, ethnicity, work-nonwork relationships, and contextual performance. He is also involved with a number of evidence-based management initiatives.
He has published in journals such as the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and the Journal of Vocational Behavior; and in 2005 he published a book on the psychological contract with Neil Conway.
