When we started HPA, we had a lot of 'stuff' - our own articles on things like the future of wellbeing, or research into human capital risks like fraud, as well as access to great thought leadership pieces by individuals in business and academia pushing the boundaries of human capital management. People like Laurie Bassi for example.

Knowing that together we're stronger, late 2009 we decided to pool together all the best articles we had or came across in one free to access Web 2.0 place: HubCap (a hub for human capital ideas). Since then, HubCap has grown, in large part through the kind donation of articles by thought leaders like Dave Ulrich and Edward R. Lawler III. Articles from all over the world. All accessed by our clients - and you - for free.

In our research and through our consulting work, we also began to notice that though access to the latest and best ideas was of a huge benefit, many wanted to network with their peers and share how  best to apply the latest thinking at work.

People wanted to debate - face-to-face - answers to questions such as:

How are you measuring leadership potential from the shop floor up?
Which of the new analytics work – and which don’t – for your industry?
How are you shifting the diversity debate beyond gender?
How are you ensuring the FD and the CEO really ‘gets’ it?

So in late 2011, we launched a peer-to-peer HRD Network where the subjects are chosen by members because they matter now, and the debate is designed to get down to the sharing of strategic level as well as practical insights that others can apply for the benefit of all.

As free to join as HubCap – so long as you meet our criteria of being top of your game – the first events took place in December focusing on how to measure talent management ROI. With over 30 HRD's signed up for 2012, this network is set to grow fast.
